A Survey of Web-Based Simulation

<body> <h2> A Survey of Web-Based Simulation </h2> <p> The collection of topics relevant to any survey of "web-based simulation" is fairly diverse. We have identified seven general areas: (1) simulation support libraries; (2) on-line simulations; (3) web-based environments; (4) distributed simulation infrastructures; (5) general web technologies and information; (6) other on-line surveys; and (7) web-based simulation in the literature. <p> <h3> Simulation Support Libraries </h3> These are packages that allow you to contstruct simulations that run on the client. Each of these packages are in Java. <ul> <li> <a href="http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/home/hase/simjava/simjava-1.0/"> Simjava</a> -- a process-based discrete event simulation package for Java, similar to Jade's Sim++, with animation facilities. <li> <a href="http://www.isbiel.ch/Projects/janet/">jaNet</a> -- a neural network toolkit <li> <a href="http://marlish.ncl.ac.uk:8080/JavaSim/">JavaSim</a> -- a process-based discrete event simulation package derived from C++SIM. <li> <a href="http://131.120.142.115/~stork/simkit_home.html">Simkit</a> -- an object-oriented discrete event simulation package. <li> <a href="http://www.cs.uga.edu:80/~rajesh/jsim.html">JSIM</a> -- a Java-based Query Driven Simulation package. <li> <a href="http://www.cs.utah.edu/~gback/process/README.html"> Process/Coroutine</a> -- a java port of the process.c and coroutine.c libraries. <li> <a href="http://asi-www.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/studenten/lechler/desmojdoc/API_users_guide.html">DESMO-J</a> -- a Java-based process-oriented modeling language derived from DEMOS and Simula. </ul> <h3> On-Line Simulations </h3> These are simulations that are on the web and available for execution.
